Backgrounds: The clinical outcome of diabetes patients after PCI is known to be worse than non-diabetics. However, there is controversy about the effect of systemic inflammation and glucose control on clinical outcome. In this study, we aim to assess the clinical outcome after drug eluting stent implantation and systemic inflammatory markers.
Methods: From January 2004 to December 2009, 2506 patients with diabetes in COACT( CathOlic medical center percuAneous Coronary intervention) registry were included. Mean age was 64.76 years, men are 59 %, mean hsCRP at PCI was 1.3832 mg/L. After univariate analysis, factors associated with major cardiac adverse outcome was analyzed by Cox regression analysis.
Results: After Cox regression analysis, Age, chronic kidney disease, initial hsCRP, initial EF are significantly related to major cardiac adverse outcome. Kaplan-Meier curve shows better event free survival until 2000 days
Conclusion: Preprocedural hsCRP is a significantly associated with MACE after DES implantation.
