Chong-Jin Kim, Catholic Heart Care Network Study Group |
Backgrounds: Coronary artery disease(CAD) has been become a major cause of death and morbidity in Korea. However, we have limited epidemiologic and demographic data about it. The purpose of this study was designed to inspect clinical features and prognosis of patients(pts) with CAD during long-term follow up period. Methods: We prospectively enrolled 1665 consecutive pts with CAD who have admitted to 8 Catholic University Hospitals located in 6 different cities in Korea from December, 1999 to April, 2003. Results: Table (Patients baseline characteristics(n=1665), Treatment modalities according to angiographic characteristics, n=1055)
Conclusion: Acute MI is most common CAD in adimitted pts in Korea. 2-year cardiac mortality is 2.6%, incidence of MACE is 15.9%.
