Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the predictors of mortality of patients with ROSC (return of spontaneous circulation) after CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) due to acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods: 230 consecutive patients (61.7짹13.8 years, 156 male) with ROSC after CPR due to AMI, who admitted between October 2005 and January 2008, were divided into two groups according to the presence of mortality until 1 year after AMI; Group І have mortality (n= 71, 67.1짹12.2 years, 39 male) vs. Group ���� don���t develop mortality (n= 159, 59.3짹13.9 years, 117 male). Results: The levels of age, initial Killip class, glucose were significantly increased in Group �� than in Group ІІ (p<0.05). History of ischemic heart disease, angina, previous percutanous coronary intervention, diabetes were more common in Group І than in Group ���� (p<0.05). The levels of systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), maximal CK, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol were significantly decreased in Group �� than in Group ���� (p<0.05). History of smoking was more common in Group ІІ than in Group �� (p<0.05). In Cox proportional hazard regression analysis, age (Relative risk (RR) 1.087, 95% CI 1.029-1.147, p=0.003), SBP (RR 0.982, 95% CI 0.966-0.998, p=0.028), LVEF (RR 0.903, 95% CI 0.855-0.0.953, p<0.001), creatinine (RR 1.583, 95% CI 1.196-2.093, P=0.001) were significant independent predictors of mortality of patients with ROSC after CPR due to AMI. Conclusions: Age, SBP, LVEF, creatinine were significant independent predictors of mortality of patients with ROSC after CPR due to AMI.
