Efficacy evaluation of HGF-X7-eluting stent in rabbit balloon denudation model

Objectives; To evaluate the acceleration of re-endothelialization by HGF-X7-eluting stent in a rabbit balloon denudation model. Methods; Ten New Zealand white rabbits (male, 3.5 to 4.0 Kg) were anesthetized with an intramuscular injection of Zylazine (5mg/Kg) followed by Ketamine (50 mg/Kg). We inserted 5 Fr. introduce sheath in external carotid artery and performed angiography and balloon denudation with balloon catheter (2.5 * 8 mm) at 10 atmospheres(atms) in both external iliac arteries. We deployed pCK-HGF-X7-eluting VM202 stent or bare metal stent was deployed at 12 atms for 15 seconds in randomly assigned vessel. After the implantation of stents, we gained optical coherent tomography(OCT) images just after procedure. Follow up angiography, OCT and pathologic specimens were gained after 14 days and 28 days. Aspirin (25 mg) and clopidogrel (32.5 mg) were administered everyday. Results; Table Conclusion; Gene coating stent (pCK-HGF-X7-eluting VM202 stent) could more efficiently accelerate the growth of neointimal layer composed with typical endothelial cells than bare metal stent.
